Server Applications PDF Print E-mail

This is a pretty broad subject. Everything from online databases to streaming radio, to the weather, these are basically programs that run on a server, whether a web server or a PC server.

Here's some examples that I've dealt with or designed:

  • Local Weather Conditions (on KVON Radio website)
  • Shoutcast Radio Streaming - free open source software that allows anyone with a computer and an internet connection to be an Internet radio station. This system is associated with Winamp, mentioned under Useful Free Software on this site. There are tens of thousands of stations to pick from, categorized by music genre.
  • Database systems - I have set up a "Best of the Napa and Sonoma Valleys" online voting system that records votes in a number of categories, along with the voters information. It also checks to make sure no-one votes over and over. Another example of this type of system are online trouble ticketing systems, as well as client/contact tracking systems, which I actually use for myself and my associates.
  • I can also create website forms that calculate values like real estate interest calculators, and other "active" functions.

Just let us know how we can be of service - and don't worry - if it's not something I'm experienced in, I'll let you know - I won't just "wing" it.
